See handbook. If all else fails kick yourself when you see the forum sticky :)

It's funny you bring this up!! I have had 2 low tone horns burn out on my 2005 STR. One under warranty and the same one about a year later.

The only advice I can give is check the horn first to make sure it's not burned out or has a wiring problem. At least the horns are pretty easy to get at and work on. One 10mm bolt and they both come off. The horn has a relay so no fuse.

Finally if you do need to get a horn, price them new first. I keep finding used Jaguar parts for higher prices that new!!

Do you have the JTIS? It's only about $10 on EBay. There are electrical diagrams in it that show where the relay is. I am pretty sure the relay is in the under hood power box. The first thing I do is swap it with another relay to see if anything changes.

I really don't find relays go bad very often. You might have something simple like a wiring problem. The horns stick out in front of the radiator so check around there and see if wiggling the wires gets any horn action going.

horn location

I also have a dead horn on my 2004 s type r. According to all data it should be on the left front near the headlight assemblies, I have the plastic covers off but I can't seem to see it. Any suggestions?

On my 2005 STR the horns are right in front of the radiator and right behind the horse collar grill. You really can't miss them.

Maybe the 2004 is different but don't know why it would??

See the picture below. You can't see them but the red arrow points where to look. This is a 2003 STR (Note the strut tower caps).
