Diff b/t an Stype and a Stype Sport

Question -

What were the differences between the S-type and the Sport?

Did the sport only come with the manual transmission?

FloridaJag,

As far as I know, the Sport model had the following:

1. Body color grille

2. Aluminum trim in lieu of the wood, although this was not always the case.

3. Stiffer suspension

There may be other differences. Delta66 has a 2005 sport model so perhaps he can provide more information.

The sport (indeed, any S-Type) only rarely was manual, and only the V6.

It depends on what region you are asking about.

In North America, Sport Package cars had different wheels, body color trim and grill, different suspension settings, and in 03 and up, slightly larger brakes. The Aluminum trim that was introduced in 2005 was available as a separate option on Sport Package and STR models. The standard wood for each was used unless the Aluminum trim was ordered.

Now in Europe there were different specs.... Here is a link to a site that posts some of the sales literature for the S. I hope it's not a "no no" to post it....:icon_angel:
