Default dsc system fault 2000 jaguar s type

Getting this error message, blinking traction control light and cruise control stopped working all at same time. Any help on where to focus first would be appreciated. Thank you.

Have a google around / search on here with all the faults and codes you have. This may point you to dry soldered joints on the supply pins on the ABS modual. There are a couple of you tubes videos which may have all and or some of the messages and symptoms you are experiencing. This could also take you on a long journey of dead ends. the 2000/2001 S types did have a spat of ABS power pin failures due to dry soldered joints early on. Or like mine at 85KM. The ABS has to be repaired for your car, see You tube video for details or replaced and reprogrammed to your car if getting an exchange second hand unit. There are many threads to check out and see what best suits all the symptoms you are experiencing.

Note I did stress May and Could, if you put all the info you have and check what are in the other posts once found. You will be better placed to investigate and answer your own question.

Good Luck

This thread may be of some help:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...faults-193787/

That was written primarily for 2003+ cars, but it should still be of interest.

One quick thing you can try is to hook up an automatic battery charger every night for a week or so. If the car now behaves itself, then you'd know low prestart voltage was the problem. The next step would be to determine why, such as a failing battery, marginal charging system, overnight battery drain, etc.
