DTCs (Codes) - who needs a FULL, UP-TO-DATE listing
A current (and weird) IC fault reported by Pete [PapasJag] sent me looking for late MY DTC Summaries. Alas, I found mine were far from complete. I found plenty for Powertrain (mostly early MY) but not those I needed. After many hours of trawling, finding incomplete listings and broken links, even among our Stickys, I start this new thread with an appeal . . .
Who wants a complete listing of ALL DTCs (generic and Jag specific - Powertrain, Body, Chassis and Network) with universal application to ALL JAGUARS built after the mid to late '90s and even into the future?
If so, I envisage brief intro sections on what DTCs are, how you can read them off your vehicle, and which ones apply to your model&year Jaguar.
I have assembled the links to authoritative resources of all possible listings . . . hundreds of pages . . . yes, including the odd-ball ones too! BUT . . . there is always a but . . . my builders arrive tomorrow so, unless there is sufficient need for me to pull an all-nighter to do the write-up, it goes to the back burner.
What say you? Any interest? Then, please post asap.
Cheers,

Ken

Ken, the DTC lists as PDF files from JTIS are the only official and accurate ones, and you shouldn't trust any answers you get from websites or other sources.
Apart from the Ford master list, FORD DTC MASTER LIST

+1
Also, some of the codes (e.g. P2135) CHANGE MEANING over the years and models. You really don't want to try to cope with the vast numbers and changes.
I think there are a couple of revised PDFs for the S-Type that are a little newer than the latest JTIS and of course the Denso/Jaguar PDFs that I think made it to the large files area.

OK, and all your comments noted. Actually, it was to both Ford DTC Master List (for all P0xxx, P2xxx, P3xxx, B0xxx, C0xxx and U0xxx generics) and JTIS (for P0 Jag specifics) that I referenced.
However, I stand by my point that, unless members know that they can access those DTC lists by downloading and installing JTIS, via Jim Lombardi's brilliant work at our #1 Sticky . . . they remain unknown and unused by most members. Elsewhere in our Stickys (HOW TO . . . and Tips & Tricks etc) there is nothing that is newer than MY2003, and anything other than Powertrain Summaries is older still - so the evolution that John correctly points to eg facelift developments, diesel engines etc, remains unaddressed.
Nonetheless, I happily accept your feedback and will get back to the excavators who are turning 150 square metres of lawn into my new shed!
Cheers,

Ken

Do you even have a reliable reference for the diesel's codes? The engine is joint Jaguar/PSA Citroen as I recall and the PCM is not one used in other S-Types.
I tend to point people to Gus's site as (some/all) codes PDFs are on there so it's not necessary to install JTIS (which is kinda awkward for non-Windows people). A Sticky of all the PDFs might be good. The Denso V6 & V8 ones could go there, too, and ZF perhaps also.

Diesels? Alas I don't . . . nor can I find any that lie outside the generics of P0xxx and P2xxx, nor a specific Jaguar P0xxx list.
As to Gus' brilliant resource site [JagRepair.com] for which no accolades suffice, there are several broken link menu pages that lead nowhere; and info beyond 2003 (as here on JF) is almost non existent. That sounds like I'm ungrateful . . . I am not . . . but referring someone to inappropriate data is not helpful. By way of contrast, Gus' MY2006 Electrical Wiring Diagrams for the S-Type are gold plated! Later, I will PM Gus to seek his input also.
Like you, I am simply keen to identify the missing gaps, locate the missing bits (if possible but it may not be) and then provide a minimalist Sticky that is a chain of hotlinks to the fullest possible range of PDFs that members can download. Perhaps too big an ask?

Ken
