Hmmm... I distinctly remember a certain Moderator asking a Body guy about that exact car..... Hmmmm... I wonder if said Moderator now has a R???

Anyway.... $6800 is a steal for a car that nice to the person with the right skills or contacts...

Guys lets be honest. When ever I am driving the jag, it always gets the looks. I let my kid drive it (18 years old) and his friends all said "if you can't get (you know what) in that car, you never will".

The reality is anyone can afford the S type for the most part and people not knowing or searching it out, always think its a 40 thousand dollar car and never guess you can get it for what this guy paid.

My saying to all is, and I love the car by the way, "Its not the ability or luxury to be able to afford an s type Jag because anyone can do it, its the ability to afford the costs you could incur for the service required to keep it in great condition".

And I am not saying anything negative about any dealer who charges what they need to charge to stay in business, its all part of doing business and what you expect and receive for just compensation. If you knew the mark up at my wife's nationally known Jewelry store where she works, you would get sick the next time you bought the wife something.

What I am saying is that's why this site is so great. It allows me to send two kids to college and still keep this car at the same time.

Yep, the S-Type fits best from a budget standpoint into a D-I-Y maintenance arrangement. So does our recently-acquired XK8. Without the assistance of this forum, I would have a very difficult time justifying keeping both Jaguars in our stable....

The R versions get the looks still for sure, esp my car in black with the 5% window tints hehe. That is why i decided to keep it for now. Ballin' on a budget is what I always say. A client just the other day asked me...How much that set you back, 50 g's?? I said nope hehe.

I guess you guys don't care that the body is beat to shiat?

If you want to fix all that and do it right it won't come cheap where I live.

I don't get the attraction ...
