External temp sensor location
[sm=badbadbad.gif]Hi all,
I did a search for this but was only able to find results for the X-type. My 01 3.0 S-type keeps registering an external temp of 127 degrees F. sometimes if it sits for a while it'll read 125. I'm assuming its the external temp sensor but I have no idea where its located. I'm wondering if its loose and maybe dangling in the engine compartment hence registering such high temps and slightly lower when the car sits for a bit. On the X-type its located near the front tow hook but I couldn't find it on the S. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks! Alex |
RE: External temp sensor location
it is by the radiator you need to remove the radiator splash shield, and then the rad lower cowl.So your sensor may well be touching the radiator I'd guess |
RE: External temp sensor location
Any help on where under the lower cowl or what the sendor looks like, Theres a bunch of connections around the radiator. Also there is a plug with a grey plastic plug looking thing taped to the very top of the radiator, it looks like factory taping as it is very neat looking....any ideas? thanks!

Alex My car had the same fault, high external readings, seems it's a common fault. Hope this helps. |
