[added by h20boy]---------
Jaguar Electronic Parts Catalogue
(JEPC) latest revision 11/2008
All models, all years up to 2008 (at least that is what my CD says)
---------------------------

Please don't link this to other sites or be ridiculous, this is on one of my personal servers. About 50mbps Bandwidth.

Completely Editied now with screenshots and step by step install instructions. These instructions are for windows 7 32 bit. No difference in 64 bit EXCEPT you have to enable the 32bit browser as default!

First, before downloading the file, you need to make sure you have winrar installed. This is the program that you will use to extract the files to your computer.

You can get winrar free of charge from here:

IF you have a 32 bit operating system, Click on this link:
http://www.rarlab.com/rar/wrar393.exe

IF you have a 64 bit operating system, click on this link:
http://www.rarlab.com/rar/winrar-x64-393.exe

Once you have winrar Installed, click on the link to download the EPC.rar file:
http://www.itprosondemand.com/jaguar/EPC.rar

Save the file to your desktop just for convenience. You will be deleting this file when you are finished.
Once the download has finished you will see the following icon on your desktop:

http://www.itprosondemand.com/images/icon.jpg

IF the icon doesn’t look like that (The 3 books stacked like that), you have not properly installed winrar, you need to repeat step one.

Double Click on the EPC.rar icon and winrar will open, at first at the lower left you will see it counting files, once it is done, you will get a menu that this is a trial version, just click on close.

Then You will see this:

http://www.itprosondemand.com/images/winrar.jpg

Click on the extract to on the top left:

http://www.itprosondemand.com/images/extract.jpg
The extraction path and options menu will come up – leave the defaults and say OK.

http://www.itprosondemand.com/images/extractmenu.jpg

This will pop up and it will extract the files – this may take a little while

http://www.itprosondemand.com/images/extracting.jpg

Once the extraction has finished close winrar.

You will have the following icon on your desktop:

http://www.itprosondemand.com/images/EPCfolder.jpg

Double click on that folder and you will see the following folder:

http://www.itprosondemand.com/images/1st%20Level.jpg

Double click on the folder “Jaguar Epc v3 10.2009” You will see the following window:

http://www.itprosondemand.com/images/2folders.jpg

First take the JEPC Shortcut file and drag it to your desktop.

Then CLICK on the JEPC folder, hold down control and click on the jepcv3 folder (so both are highlighted).
Right click and say CUT. (or press control X)

http://www.itprosondemand.com/images/cut.jpg

Now go to computer (or My computer in XP)

http://www.itprosondemand.com/images/computer.jpg

Double click on c:
You want to be in the root of c: (your icons will be different, BUT the key is across the top that it says computer -> Local Disk (C: ) ->

Right click on a blank part of the window and say paste:

http://www.itprosondemand.com/images/paste.jpg

The computer will move the two folders from your desktop to the c: directory
http://www.itprosondemand.com/images/moving.jpg

When it’s done you should see these two folders in the computer -> Local Disk (C: ) -> window.

http://www.itprosondemand.com/images/copied.jpg

Now double click on your JEPC Shortcut icon on your desktop:

http://www.itprosondemand.com/images/jepcicon.jpg

IF all went well this will open up.

http://www.itprosondemand.com/images/login%20page.jpg

Type Admin in the login field and 123 in the password field - click login, and the main menu will come up:

http://www.itprosondemand.com/images/main%20menu.jpg

Then select the model / year, and go from there.

Hope this helps with all the install issues.
Feel free to ask a question if you have one or need help, BUT please post it here, that way I don't have to answer the same questions repeatedly, and others can read it here rather than waiting for me or others to respond.

Take care and Enjoy

Electronic parts Catalog.

You can have the same software the dealer has for looking up parts on your PC.
Download this if you work on your car.

Josworth - I'll PM you regarding JTIS etc.

I don't seem to be able to get the files to work. I'm running W7 and when I launch the shortcut some text flashes on the screen then nothing happens. It happens so fast I can't read what it's saying...

The files all extracted fine and they are in c:

Any ideas? Thanks!

Do you have ONE directory in c: entitled "Jaguar EPC v3 10.2009" (or close)

Or Two driectories in C: JEPC and jepcv3

If you have one, you need to copy the two directories mentioned above out of that one onto c:

Also you on 64 bit or 32 bit 7?

Works just fine on Windows 7 64 bit. The confusion might be as to which file is used as the desktop icon.

When it's extracted, it will extract into that ONE folder if you just leave the default settings.

Btw the pics are flash based, so you prob have the 32bit browser set as default if you are working.

Brilliant!

Zenman63 01-06-2011 12:35 PM

Would it work with Apple Mac?

Maybe if you ran XP in parallels or bootcamp. I don't think it will work natively in OSX. However from my cursory inspection of the program it seems to run in a browser using a combination of java and flash, and requires no installation, so it JUST might.

As long as you put those two folders in the root forec
Probably worth a try... worse case you delete the files.

Nice one George/Buck, thanks for the XMAS pressie. :)

Much appreciated and looks as if this will be really useful - but I can't get past the logon page. Am using the ADMIN/123 as per readme.txt. Any ideas?

Install the x64 bit version of Winrar first, so it registers the filetype, then download it.

Just click on the link, and it should ask if you want to open it or save it.

To the other Poster, yes, Admin and 123 work. May want to try Lower case or Capital A.

To the guy with the mac - I saw you downloaded it, I'm actually really curious to see what happens.

Well, as a PDF it IS damaged - it's not a PDF!!

Get WinRAR or any unrar. The clue's in the .rar file name :)

Edit file JEPC\applications\JEPC\js\Constants.js and change rootFolder variable to point your real install location.

JOsworth 01-07-2011 07:37 AM

LOL... Love my XP laptop...

Downloaded and opened with Winrar... Dragged the two folders to C: (no directory) then dragged the shortcut to my desktop.. Click.. ADMIN / 123 and all opens fine..
