Default How to Video for Cabin Filter FAQ

Replaced the cabin filter after my fuel filter so I made a little video for that too. I'm gonna try and make a video of everything I do to my STR so we can get a little video maintenance log so maybe it can help some people that are a little scared to work on the STR. They can check the videos then see if its something they wish to tackle. When I need new brakes I'll made one for that so look for that one in a few months cause my brakes currently are still good. Every video I'm gonna do a tool breakdown at the end of every tool used to do whatever I showed in the video. Hope you guys enjoy.
Look for my other post for the fuel filter.
Now for the cabin filter vid.

Thanks so much for this. I just picked up one of these amazing cars and was getting ready to do this. Mine's a '05 as well in Jag Racing Green with tan interior. I love it and as a car guy I'm surprised I didn't know about these cars. I read there were only 163 of the '05 Rs sold worldwide. I'm located in northeastern NC. I see you're in NC as well.,

The 163 is the 2005 UK-only figure.

I'm in Jacksonville, NC. If you ever need anything you seem to be the closest to me so far. Will have to try and get a NC Jag club going. Need anything done check my offer in the fuel filter video thread.

What an awesome Initiative! This is a really cool Idea... Can senior members promote this and add collection for newbies like me. Will help thousands of people who love to do their job right with their own hands ...

Millions of Thanks!

Rizwan, mods and JimC64 only have the power to make threads and posts stickys.

There is a "faq section" here in the S Type that has lots of good reading and DIY repairs. See link below.

Joy, You are right. I have gone through that section and some of the links there.

But not everyone can follow written material (specially without Diagrams)... I know nothing about Cars except to drive it but that can't stop my passion to own nice Cars . But I want to learn as much as I can.

I remember you also wrote a post on this with Pictures and that was really good.

Sorry if I sounded lazy but this is not laziness but a fear of doing any harm to precious cat .

I hope you know what I mean.

Thanks for Your Support!

Try reading the workshop manual (ebay $10) because it's big so you'll find some parts you can cope with (as well as the rest!).

Sites like howstuffworks are good, as are car manuals (Haynes and the like) - yes, paper ones. Don't have to be for the S-Type because most modern cars are at heart quite similar. Just read and see what soaks in. Even the jargon is handy to know.

Nice work Vance thanks for taking the time

Rizwan as h20boy said, the FAQ for this Forum is being reworked as we speak. Good video "how to's" such as this will be included.

No problem everyone just glad I can help. I'm in the military so I know there are people that aren't the most mechanically inclined that would love to learn. I always found that taking the hands on approach is the best way to teach people. In my job in the Marine Corps I had to know pretty much everything there was about the M242 Bushmaster chain gun and I'll tell you every book I read about it just made we want to take a nap especially with all the military jargon they throw in there. I've always learned my best just jumping in and getting that hands on approach with it. So with these videos I'm trying to give the ones that are like me the ability to see it hands on before you go just ripping your car apart. I'll be making more so hopefully in due time there will be a nice catalog that anything you need to do to your STR or just S type you will get a better understanding of it. Not only that even if you dont want to ever wrench on your car you will have an understanding of whats all involved in doing certain repairs to know whether that mechanic is trying to take you to the bank or not.
Also I'm looking at possibly persuing a career in being an Automotive Technition so these will also become part of my portfolio. Will see what the future holds.

I've been doing most minor repairs and maintanence on my cars for decades and found it helps find many problems before they start. I started this years ago when I found the dealer's techs had made mistakes.
