Issues!! odometer not showing! driver seat not working
 

I posted a thread earlier about secondary tensioners as a preventive maintenance now I have two problems.

I bought this car last week.

1) odometer is not working, does not show any mileage and even when i use the dimmer switch that other gauges light dim but no odometer reading

2) driver site seat wont go back/forward, recline or incline, only lumbar works.

Please help. I don't want to start off bad with jaguar brand.

Blown fuse maybe?

It's a fault I don't think we've seen before.

The capacitors on the back of the gauge cluster are bad or the cold solders broke loose. Mine flickers on the S-Type but largely stays blank. It's about $3 worth of parts, but it's a delicate soldering job and I haven't bothered to attempt it yet. I've talked to a few people that have successfully repaired it.
