I noticed the other day that the bulb was burnt out on the passenger side door "puddle light" on the wife's S-type. I removed it and it looked familiar, i.e. a 5W "festoon" bulb commonly found on a number of older British cars as well. I rummaged my E-type parts and sure enough I found a replacement - the E-type uses the same bulb for the map light. So does the original S-type Saloon of the '60s. So far, its the only part that I know of that the modern S-type shares with its Browns Lane ancestors.
