Oil leak problem..
I just got the inspection for my jag 2weeks ago and a car shop guy said my jag has some oil leaks which is little bit. So they recommended me to get car wash to find where it is leaking and how severe it is..
so I have a question!!
How much it usually cost..?
I know it depends on how bad it is but as the car shop guy said, i think it would not be bad...

kblood, which engine (3.0L or 4.0L, or diesel)? The 3.0L engines are known for leaks from the oil pan and getting out the oil pan is a real PITA. Read that is many hours of labor. So, a $20 gasket replacement will cost you around $500. Some fixes are easier than others.
If you have someone wash the engine, stand by. The newer engines do not like having water forced on them and the engine will more than likely start tossing all sorts of codes. I personally would not use anything over a garden hose. Even then, try to avoid things like the tops of the valve covers. You can clean the engine yourself. Go get yourself a can of "Gunk" (engine degreaser) and get the engine nice and warm (drive for about 3 miles or so). park the car, spray the Gunk on the engine (watch out for spraying directly on wiring and other electronic parts), let sit for a few minutes and then hose off. That should remove most of what you will need. From there, crawl all over the engine to see where any oil may be left, drive the car another say 50 miles and do another inspection of the engine. Where you see the oil starting to leak is more than likely your source.

Do you have an extended warrenty for this car?
Whats the Age and mileage on this car?
Do you know how much oil is being lost inbetween oil changes?
How does your driveway look, were you park your car?
WTF is a car's agent?
YES- If you go for a JAG service, they will charge you at least $500.
LOL- A cars agent is the gay dude on the CARMAX commercial who dressed as an old lady trying to sell Clunkers for CASH.

Kblood,
I'd take the under engine pan off and get under the car, supported safely, and clean off all the oily bits from underneath.
Then give it a run to get warmed up and park it over a clean piece of cardboard and try to find which area is leaking then get underneath again and see if you can find exactly what it is.
Danielsatur, it doesn't sound like Kblood's first language is English, so cut him some slack!

I had bad oil services, were oil technicians poured oil on exhaust, shorted oil, and stripped a drain plug.
There was actually a dude trying to charge $124 for a oil change, because being a JAG.
I thought these were good questions, the only problem was, is with the car agent selling him a problem.
Some Jaguar owners don't want to spend any of there life, under the hood, with a salesman, or at a service station.

The advice given by Norri is a good way of generally locating a leak. If the leak appears to be from the oil pan gasket, I would first try retorqing the bolts, and also add some oil stop leak. There are a number of well known brands of stop leak out there.
