P2098 Post Catalyst Trim too lean This car is killing me
Does anyone have an idea of where I should start with this.
I replaced my cats about a month ago with the magnaflow high flows due to a failed catalytic converter I also had the "intake tube" ( I think that is what is was called) replaced at the same time and now I have this code and check engine light is on. I took it back to shop where they have checked for exhaust leaks and they told me what I had already suspected is that there were none. 2005 STR Pulley upgrade, High flow cats Any ideas would be appreciated guys |
What are the fuel trims? At idle and at 2500 rpm, parked, engine hot.
If they didn't already check them I think you're at the wrong shop. |

I will check them after work and put them on here. |

They look OK so it seems you have something else causing the code, maybe the cat. conv. just isn't suitable.

Maybe swap the O2 sensors after the cats from side to side? Just to make sure the code stays the same and you don't have an O2 sensor problem?
On the STR they are easy to get to so it's not much work. . . . |
Thanks TBird that is a good idea I never even thought of that I will see if I can get under there this weekend and switch them around. If nothing else that will eliminate that as a cause for my troubles.

Good idea and please post back what you find. Troubleshooting is hard! I don't mind the repair as much as long as it works.
