Default parking sensors on after stopping

Since I started driving car once a week and not everyday I noticed the beepers sound every time I walk past. To start with after switching off they are off but about an hour later they start to work again for days. I had to jump start the car today after 7 days. Car went fine but sensors starting beeping again this afternoon. Where do I start to look and check?

Battery down to 12.2 volts which means 60% charged. I will get a CCA test and if it fails will change battery. After charging battery the sensors behaved properly so I agree the system was having its electronic confusion event.. Remember the days when the battery went to the starter and coil and would start if it could turn over at even the slowest speeds.........

Grandhaze, take a read of the thread in this forum "Battery 101".https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...pe-faq-123983/
It states that at 12.2v your battery is on it's way out.
My car was throwing intermittent codes...mainly misfires... and this can also be a sign of suspect battery. I had mine checked, and it showed 12.2v. Had it replaced (was 6 years old) and all has been well since.

now im driving regularly parking beepers are behaving ok. If the battery is still reading 12.2 by the weekend then Ill change it. Battery is meant to be 18 Months old but I've had new ones give up within weeks. Still want to try a Lith Ion Bat which cost about $450 plus but work well in my other (smaller) cars and bikes...

Hello Paul [grandhaze] . . . sorry to have missed you at Ballina.

Do check out our Battery 101 for S-Types links to the main write-up. I have also posted links into the NSW&ACT section. Being just up the road from me, you should note that the top-of-the-line Varta H3 Silver Series is standard multiple fitment in NSW Ambulances and this makes for rapid turnover. Mine was less than 2 months old since manufacture in Germany.

Price will be a pleasant surprise too! If your purchase from Battery World, don't forget to ask for your JaguarForums discount.
Best wishes,
Ken
