Nice. Where/how did you get those projector headlights? I was under the impression that they are only offered on the Type R's. Did you buy them aftermarket somewhere? I can't tell if your car was like stock or added on later, per your mods?

 

I was under the impression that the lights came like that on the 03+ S-type.

Hi, the HID lights came stock. I am actually upgrading the bulbs to 8000K temperature. Stock is about 5000K, upgradint this will give them a more blueish look. Those are port holes above the tire. There are just stick ons but I like the look of them. You can find them on ebay.

I have already got the mesh grille, but I need a shop to install it because the stock grill needs to be cut off. I also tinted the windows, added door pillars, got an intake as well. My favorite addition has to be the exhaust. It is a 2 1/2 inch cat back dual exhaust. 2 flowmaster delta force race mufflers single chamber, this car is extrememly loud, It was so loud that I had to reinstall both resonators.

The car is currently in the shop for some fixtures. There was squeeking in the steering wheel. A clicking sound when I turned on the heater. I needed my trunk lubed and the most major problem was my transmission. It has a hard kick going from first to second gear, at about 10 mph. The shop fixed all the other problems, but they couldnt find a solution for the transmissions kick, so I was informed that they are installing a brand new transmission and the car will be ready on monday!

 

Edra talks about a new tranny like it's an oil change. "Oh it'll be ready on monday" Man, I'd be bitching and moaning about the money I'll be spending on the new tranny!

 

I dont have to spend a dime since the warranty is covering it. If I did have to spend money, i would be pissed.

 

Excellent deal you got! I bought my 2003 S-Type V8 in Sept 2005 with more miles and about the same price. You did good. Can't say I really like those added details. Your wheels are different than mine too. I like the silver color, it looks really good.

Yours looks awesome. I actually really like the wheels on mine. They look similar to mercedes. Have you had any problems with yours?

Are you sure? I've seen a few 2003+ S-types on Ebay that don't have projectors. Or it might be the angle the pics were taken at. They are hard to spot with all that chrome in the housing area.

 

the HID on the 2003+ s type is an option. Not all of them have the HIDs. The bulbs are D2C's.

So, let me recap, projectors can only be had with HID’s and are not offered as standard equipment?
IMO that is a little strange most automotive manufacturers usually offer projectors as standard euipment then the HID's are considered upgrades.

 

I got the car back from the shop. It drives so perfectly now. Repairs were worth $9,000! I didn't pay a dime. New tranny too.

I also just installed the intake, wow, great added power as well.

As for the HID's, I bought new bulbs for them, but I do not know how to remove the headlight so I need help.

 

Thanks. I've not had any problems so far. I bought it in Sept 05 and so far all is good. The only complaint is the expense to get maintenance done. An oil change cost me $125! Synthetic oil, but still expensive and that was way less than the dealer wanted.I use the premium gas so that is pricey too. I purchased new tires last week and that was not cheap either. Michelins for my wife's Quest was far less expensive than the Kuhmo tires I selected for the Jag. It seems that just becuase the label is Jaguar the price goes up significantly!

I love the car. Fun to drive andfun to detail. I joined a local Jaguar club and I even entered mine in a Concours last Sept. I got a 99.96 out of 100!
