Default Power steering anti-noise additive

Read the service bulletin regarding 50ml additive. Lacking the temperature guage. Found my reservoir too full..brought it below the max level put in the additive and followed the bulletins procedure but I'm not sure if I got the fluid hot enough. It mentions turning the wheel 90 degrees and holding the rpm at 3000. Does anyone know about how long this should take to get the temp up? Still have the noise. 05 Stype 6 cylinder

I had the noise and no adequate way to check the temperature so just removed some oil, stuck the additive in and did nothing else. Over the next few weeks the noise vanished so I guess just using the steering normally is enough over time.

I did mine the same way without a temperature gauge, just removed the same amount of fluid as was going in, then turned wheels from side to side half a dozen times, and hay presto the noise was gone

Mine took almost a week for the noise to disappear completely even though I followed the procedure to the letter.

Our steering squeak disappeared immediately after the additive went in. I did not heat it up, just did a number of lock-to-lock turns in the driveway. Give it some time - some cars seem to gradually quiet down while others shut up immediately....

My 06 s-type seems to have the same noise problem....

I would like to try the additive, but where can I purchase it? Do I have to go to the dealer (40 miles away) or is there and online source???

Thanks

You may want to check this site:

http://www.motorcarsltd.com/informat...armanuals.html

If they don't have it, you may want to check with your dealer about arranging shipping. Note: you may have to do some navigating around the site. This is just from my favorites.
