It’s been a while since I first posted about upgrading my suspension, but I wanted to circle back now that I've had some time with the setup. Based on the great feedback I received here, I went ahead and installed H&R Sport springs along with new Bilstein B4 dampers — 36mm in the front, 46mm in the rear. I'm happy to report that the car no longer "squats" like it used to under load. However, the inner front tyres are feathering due to camber issues.
As for ride quality — I know this is as subjective as a butt dyno — but to me, the ride doesn’t feel any harsher than stock. It’s still quite cushy on most surfaces but handles long, rolling dips at highway speeds much better. The car still leans a bit in corners, but thanks to the lowered center of gravity, the lean feels more controlled and less disruptive to handling than it did stock.
Curious to hear from others:
Has anyone else here installed the H&R Sport spring kit on their S-Type? What are your impressions? HUGE ask: Where did you source the camber kit?
ps: I do have the old springs and shocks if anyone is interested (I'm in the Denver area, sometimes in Seattle)...
Thanks in advance!
