Re: leaking coolant reservoir
Just changed the coolant reservoir on my 2003 stype 3.0L v6 today. Took me about 30 minutes to do it. Bought reservoir from rock auto- exact oem fit.
I siphoned as much coolant out of the reservoir with a small vinyl hose after car sat overnight.
Removed level sensor socket - push down and pull out. Cover socket with tape so it does not get wet.
Remove clip from hose (push sideways and grab) be careful and do not lose c clip.
Put a catch pan under the car.
If you have a rubber cap to plug tank bottom you will lose less coolant and less mess. Otherwise about half a litre of coolant will come out when you pull hose away from the bottom of tank. Use pliers to pinch spring clamp on return hose by bleeder on top. Use a 10 mm socket to remove bolt on top. Remove reservoir by tilting upwards and out. Install in reverse order and refill will 50/50 coolant and cap it. Bleed out air at bleeder and close. Look for leaks. So far okay after running today.
Thanks. DJ
