Default Rear Bumper Sensors

Hi All
My car came with what looks like an aftermarket rear sensor set up and it is ugly as sin. I have pretty much reached my tolerance level with looking at this eye sore and was wondering what you folks thought.

New Bumper?
Replace Ugly sensors with proper ones if holes were not altered?

Yeah that is pretty ugly. I'd take them off and see if they use the same factory holes

It looks like you have 3 sensors, the factory setup is 4, so I don't think the holes will be any good for a factory install

Thats pretty bad. I would just remove them and fill those holes in. Get the touch up paint from jag for your color car and you should be able to hide them pretty easily. Buying a new bumper might be a bad idea, they never properly match 100%.

Thanks guys. Yes it is a bit of a dilemma. Found new bumper on line for $264 + paint with the round sensor holes and yes that had 4 holes. Only three sensors on the one I have now. Not sure why if factory OEM had 4. Would rather take out the junk sensors and fill them in and touch up paint as bumper is in okay condition. The reverse sensor I found useless anyways. How would one go about filling the holes in?

Remove bumper, cover holes from rear, fill and sand from front, paint.

I bought a mustang that had a front license plate frame on front bumper. In my opinion it ruined the look of the car so i removed it and unfortunately it had been drilled into the bumper, leaving 4 unsightly holes. Instead of removing the entire bumper, filling in the holes, sanding it all down, painting etc, i bought black plastic plugs normally used to hold a plastic panel of the car in place. Pushed them into the hole, bought touch up paint from Ford and painted the plugs, perfect match. Barely noticeable at all. You can get these plugs online or your local auto store.

Great idea!!! Do the plugs remain fairly snug and tight to the bumper once pushed in all the way? i.e. they don't loosen and spin leaving a gap between the head and bumper?

They dont come loose, in my case i had to open the holes just a tad bit with a drill to get them to fit in. However i made sure to keep the close pretty tight, had to press them in pretty hard. They have these little tabs on them that keep them from popping back out. Its not reversable, once they are in, they stay in, similar to a screw anchor put into a wall.

I did the same thing with my old Mustang except in the spoiler holes. It was barely noticeable and a lot cheaper than any other alternatives.
