Post Rear electronic control module

I have had multiple problems with the lights on the right rear tail lamp side marker light license plate lights and did a bunch of tests and checked the wiring and determined that the problem is the module itself. Does anybody know if you can you put in a used module and if there's any programming that is necessary.

Welcome to the forum. Before gambling on a REM, have you seen these threads?:

I work in electronics and must admit I don't fully understand how such oddball problems can be caused by some other fuse. Makes little sense to me, but I just have to go along with it. As long as I know to check for this potential problem, the exact "why" details are something of a moot point.

If the REM is bad, other forum members have reported good results with used units. The trick is to find one with the same exact part number printed on the label. eBay is a good source when the seller posts pictures for comparison.

Be sure to come back and post your results, whatever you find.

Maybe read the codes in the module.

BTW have you checked your car's chain tensioners & guides? See posts about them and engine destruction...
