Default RPM's won't go higher than 1000 or 1100

Hello to all, Hoping someone can help me with this make no sense condition.

I have a 2004 Jaguar S-type, It's the Base Model, Not the "R" It's the 3.0 V6 113,000 Miles
Three days ago I decided to do a repair the was way over due. The Car had developed a constant misfire, due to wear, and tear.
The intake manifold needed both upper, and lower Gaskets to be replaced. I'm a very good and decent mechanic, But that doesn't mean that I know everything.
I've done these type of repairs many tie on a lot of different vehicles, happy to say without a hitch. But for the life of me this is one for the books.
After completing the job, button everything up, doubled and even tripped checking everything. Started the car engine idling as smooth as if the car was brand new.
Throw it into drive and realized right away that the engine does not rev. up at all. RPM's won't go higher than 1000 or 1100. Put it into Park, same as in Drive.
doesn't matter what gear I shift it to, engine won't go up in speed. Car seems to be running very rich, Strong fuel odor coming from the exhaust pipes.
hooked up the fuel gauge Fuel pressure at 49psi. needle nice and steady. Checked my other Identical Jaguar, Fuel pressure also 49psi, on the money.
Forgot to mention, Service engine light throwing Error Code P1229 Read Replace Throttle body,
But I decided to exchange the Throttle body from my excellent running other Jag. But the problem remains the same.
So there it is , I'm completely stuck.

Any help, or recommendations will be gratefully appreciated. Thank you all.

Please don't post at the end of an old different thread!

Also - VITAL - post in the right forum.

Hi tutilee,

I have moved your post from the forum for the X100 to the forum for the S-Type.

I don't know where you looked up the definition of P1229, but very few Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) call for the replacement of any part, they simply indicate a problem in a system that may involve one or more components. For example, here are the definition and possible causes of P1229:

You can download the DTC Summaries guide here:

Jaguar S-Type DTC Summaries 2003

Are you certain that P1229 is the only code that is flagged?

After changing the throttle body, did you perform a TPS recalibration? The engine management system may need to learn the limits of throttle pedal travel. Re-programming is done with the ignition switch in position II (engine not running). Slowly press the accelerator pedal fully through the kickdown detent to the floor. Release the pedal and repeat the action.

Cheers,

Don

I've moved your question from an old thread about a different topic in X150 forum to S-Type forum and given it a relevant title. This is the place to post technical questions about your model.

You have not replaced lower intake manifold, plenum correctly. Possibly one of the seals is not seated correctly.

Vacuum lines are not hooked up correctly or possibly cracked when you were moving them around. At the age of your S Type, the vacuum lines are extremely brittle! See attached link for vacuum line help.

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s-type-s-type-r-supercharged-v8-x200-15/2005-3-0-v6-color-coded-vacuum-lines-w-pics-faq-52720/

I would strip all your work back down, checking all what I posted. My money is NOT on the TB.

Thanks joycesjag :
I'm planning on doing as you advised me to tear it all down, just in case like you said something, gasket somehow slipped off.
But first let me list the engine error codes that i'm getting.
P1229, P1646, P1000, Please let me know if these revile something else to you. Really Appreciate your help. Thank you very much.

P.S. Also the cluster screen giving these messages: DSC NOT AVAILABLE, ENGINE SYSTEMS FAULT, PARK BRAKE FAULT,

Do yourself a favour and get the codes list e.g. from free download workshop manual on this site or from JagRepair.com - Jaguar Repair Information Resource

P1646 should be addressed urgently as it's a vital sensor and may be causing false codes to also flag.

While working on those other faults, hook up an automatic battery charger overnight and see if that helps with the DSC and Park Brake faults:
