Default S-Type 4.0 '99 Key Fob and Central Locking woes

My recently purchased S-Type 4.0 has some issues withe central locking and the FOB.I am hoping to get some assitance as the Jag is a great ride with a great engine. Unfortunately mine has CATS but thats another issue.

Whe its wet outside my fob is working great, when dry it doesn't. Could this be the control module in the drivers door? Or just a broken cable somewhere?

The rear door locks both don't work, neither by fob nor by key. The left rear door lock SOMETIMES opens well, mostly not and never closes with central locking system. I read a lot about the door lock actuator but maybe this could be due to a faulty locking cotrol module as well?

I know there are plenty of threads about failing door locks, but I couldn't find on eabout the fob issue.

If anyone experienced the problem I would be gratful for any hint as I am not a real electronics expert and am hoping for an easy fix as I really want to keep the car.

Thanks a lot!

Just checked the voltage of the battery after a longer ride. The car sat for 1hr. The meter showed 12,35V. That seems alittle low to me. Could this be related to errors? Regards

If the battery voltage is less than 12.5 volts after the ignition switch is in the OFF position, the battery should be replaced.

A failing or weak battery can be the source of many of the electrical faults discussed on these forums.

Thanks for the reply. I replaced the battery yesterday with a brand new one. The car runs great just like before. Nevertheless a good idea to have changed the battery for the peace of heart. The FOB problem however still exists.

As it is working in wet weather conditions it leads me to the conclusion that there must be a short somewhere. I have read a lot about the failing drivers door module but I don't think it is the case here.

Somewhere I read something about ab blown fuse, just can't find it anymore. Does anyone have some infos?

Regards
