Hello Everyone. I just purchased a 2003 S Type 4.2 so I’m looking for some guidance on how to upgrade the existing center console from an AM/FM unit with Alpine speakers, to an OEM factory unit which has the navigation and single CD player. Is this a simple plug-and-play operation, or are there some technical details that I need to know before purchasing the factory OEM Nav/CD unit online? Any guidance here would be greatly appreciated. there is al so a remote climate control module RCCM required . and a small amount of wiring .
then finally you need the dealer software to activate it all

Based on your comments and taking a look at the link you provided, here are the points I’ve addressed in order to swap consoles.
1) I’ll purchase a wiring harness adapter (Ct20jg01 Stereo Harness ISO Adaptor Wiring Loom Lead for Jaguar X-type S-type), which I found online.
2) The existing console has the “Auto" button in the upper right corner of the panel so I'm assuming a RCCM is already there.
3) I’ll be able to obtain the security code for the unit from the dealer, by providing the Jaguar part number that’s on the bottom of the Nat/CD unit I’m looking to buy.
Should I have missed something please let me know, otherwise thank you for such valuable input.

I do not think you will have an RCCM now.
