Vance I like the "little woman" in Virgina Beach. Now can you add some hooters and a string bikinni to her??

Sorry Miss "kitty" I had to ask.

Yea I was playing around with the map today and saw I could change the pins so I was messing around. I wish I could Rick then I would add that too my avatar. I was trying to see if it could draw radiuses (radii maybe), but it cant. I can make a different pin for potential locations and I can label different things to do within that location once we come up with some ideas on things to do etc.

Of course you'd be welcome Jeff! I can't make any promises about not getting razzed for the 300 though.
I used to have a 300, so you wouldn't get any crap from me.

I have a cousin in Pittsburg I haven't seen in awhile, so that'd work for me. But it's still too early for me to say whether or not I could definitely make it. I'm in columbus.

Thanks for that... My expectations weren't that great for this one..More of a practical discision...And I have been very happily surprised with this car.. It is much nicer than I expected...

You should go.... Take 71 North to 76 East and I'll meet you on the way as you swing under Akron!

You'll be able to recognize me as one of the only 300's in Akron without a Bentley grill and chrome fender vents... LOL

Thanks for the update Vance.

So far I've only found the British Car Day in September. I will be in Hilton Head during the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix (which has a Jaguar car show in it) in July, so I wouldn't be around to "host" a meeting for that one.

Maybe September is a better fit around people's summer vacations?

I'll do some more researching and look for events in the May through August timeframe. I'm sure I could find something.

EDIT: I took a look at the Jaguar Club of Pittsburgh's events calendar. They have a meeting June 6th called "Corvettes and Jaguars at Linden Hall" which is a country club near Pittsburgh, and they also have a car show in Sewickley on August 14th.

I've asked them if they would mind us joining either of those events. I'll post up what they say. I intend to join the club so maybe that would help grease the wheels.

Think I'll get Laurie a membership too Chris. PM me if you find the contact info.

Linden Hall would work for us. It's about 15 minutes from my house!

Then again Laurie would like to visit her sister in Miami. But I would much rather do that when it's cold here.

Add us to the list even though it's only a 3.0. And I better get busy with the sandpaper and spray gun.

Bumping back up....

One one of our great mods Cadillac helped out and changed the thread title to "S Type Summer Meet - East" instead of "STR".... just so our fellow non-R S-Typers know that they are included too.

Still waiting for a reply from the Jaguar Club of Pittsburgh regarding my questions about possibly joining one of their events should Pittsburgh be the chosen location for the meeting.

How are alternate locations shaping up? Seems we have a pod of members in the North Carolina area as well.

Anyway, keep thinking of some locations and events guys and gals, it would be good to try to pin down a location by April 1st if possible.

I still like the idea of the Pigeon Forge area but we havent had any members even close to that area step up. Its looking like Pittsburgh is winning cause its closer for everyone saying they are interested. If you guys wouldn't mind driving all the way to North Carolina from say NY then I can see if I can find some stuff down here. The last car I owned had a pretty good meet in Charolette a few years ago. They even got to drive around the speedway there. I can check and see what other kinda stuff there is to do there and whats involved with having us do a few laps but I have never been there so I dont have a clue.

I am up for a TN meet. Tail of the Dragon is fun, but there are some other roads around there without as much traffic.

Thats what I hear there are other roads people dont use as much. I think that would be a fun get together. Could have one day of just exploring the road doing some fun runs with some stops along the way to hang out. Then have the first day of just having a little car show at a hotel we hopefully all stay at as people come in. Hopefully find a hotel that gives us a good rate if we all stay there so we can get a discount for booking more then a few rooms. They should allow us to do a little hangout in their parking lot. Then grab some dinner. Do the drive the next day. Then the last day have a nice breakfast and head on back home. I think that would make a nice weekend. If we can think of some more stuff maybe make it a four day weekend start the coming in on a Thurs. Then have Fri and Sat for stuff to do then Sun for driving home. I think it would be more of a matter if the Northeast guy which are the majority would drive that far.

What's with the 1 hand at 12:00 o'clock and the lousy driving lines? :-D

Your brakes must have been glowing after that.

I'll throw my hat in the ring! Pittsburgh would probably be do-able for me from my place depending on the date. Hitting a Jag Club's event would be a lot of fun actually. Let's inundate them with S types - Lol! It would be a great excuse to stretch my Jag's legs.

This could be a lot of fun!

Rob
