Default S-Type windows and sunroof - all controls won't work

Hi guys
I am have a sudden issue with my 2003 s type. I had the car idling with all four windows down. ( sunroof closed) I opened the door to get out and move my other car. I got back in and none of the windows are functional. None of any door controls work to bring the windows up or down. the sunroof also will now not work. However, the global close and open works for everything. I havent tried anything yet. Any ideas?

Id start by making sure your battery is charged and in good condition . Then try a hard reboot , here

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...d-reset-39172/

And worst case could be a broken wire/s to your drivers door module . In the door shut area .

I seem to recall global open/close also being non-functional when I had the broken wire, but here you go in case you need it:

Hi guys thanks for responding. I tried doing a hard reset today and still nothing. I then tried global and the windows and sunroof opened. I then tried global close and now only the sunroof closes. I tried wiggling the wires through the jam and still nothing. Ive checked window fuses and a few others for drivers side control and still nothing. I have the battery on a charger now i hope that does something. Where do i go from here.

I could be wrong, and it is just a thought, but I think this fault could be down to a faulty switch. I think if one of the window switched is effectively stuck down (on) then the system will time out and start doing strange things.

Try turning the rear window buttons off and check all the switches for positive operation.

Another culprit could be an after-market alarm/immobiliser system. But why anyone would fit one to an S-Type I do not know.

Ok.here is an update. I tried a hard reset and now global up does not work. Global down worked once and now all windows are down and won't come back up. Prior to hard reset global up and down worked. Now sunroof still works with global open and close but now all windows are stuck down. Thoughts??

Refer to the attached electrical guide on page 29 and Figure 14.1 for the circuit layout.

It's possible the Driver Door Control Module has failed.

That will not help me as I have no idea about testing working and all that

Ok but then why would global work open and close before hard reset and now windows are stuck down.. if it was a break in the wire a hard reset shouldn't change that

Take the vehicle to a Jaguar specialist to have the problem diagnosed correctly.

If the module has possibly failed, there is no other way to correct the condition.
