How many miles on it? Sitting like that for such a long time you will likely burn some oil. See smoke coming from air conditioning vents etc, might even see fault codes light up. Used to have an 03 STR and i let it sit for a while too, that^ is what happened to me.As far as precaution...dont start it up in a closed garage, you might get alot of smoke.

Did you use a fuel stabilizer? If not add some now to absorb the condensation in the fuel tank.

Recommend changing the oil and filter and possibly the fuel filter, too. How much gas in the tank? If the tank is low you should also fill with fresh gas and possibly wait a while to start so that the old gas mixes with fresh and any condensation, etc., are mixed.

A year is nothing. Charge the battery, turn the key and go.

I left mine sitting for almost a year in the crappy British weather, charged battery, no problems apart from the brakes were slightly seized but freed themselves as I pulled away.

All I would recommend is you let it idle till its up to temp and cycle through the gears a few times.
