Default STR front parking aid / sensor beeping for no reason

Hi, I just scoured the forums to find solutions for this fix, but cannot locate one. My 2006 STR randonly beeps from the front parking aid, when nothing is around it. Specially annoying when waiting at a red light, and the BEEEEEEP!

Anyone corrected this issue?

Thanks,
Frank

Mine does this when there is snow/ice on either of the bumpers.

If the sensors are free of debri, then either one or more sensors or module went south. The beeping is the default setting when there's a fault.

Well mine do this and I have found it usually is a large truck that is going by in the left turn lane. It is surprising just how far the sensors can pick up stuff.

it is soo annoying and embarrasing with such an expensive car. Is there a way to troubleshoot the individual sensors for fault?

Well a simple check is to put your ear up against the sensor when live. There should be an audible clicking.

Now be careful as the front sensors are only active when the car is in a forward gear. Same with the rear sensors. They are only active when the car is in reverse.

Have someone you trust in the drivers seat!!

The rears work with engine off if you put into R. Haven't got fronts so don't know if similar trick works.

Default Sensor test

I placed a bit of duct tape ( metallic) over an individual sensor and that was enough to alert the backing alarm without the need to have a potential victim in the path of a car in gear. It might work for the front parking assistant.

So I still have the random beep when stopping at a red light from the front sensors, and with no other cars around! I also noticed that the red light on Parking Seonsors switch on the overhead console no longer lights up nor does it stop the beeping from occuring when I press it. Anyone have a part number?

Thanks,
Frank
