Very similar to what?

You're spot on Bacardi. Though Avos's motor has less displacement (via a shorter stroke) and is less technically advanced as the STR's, it's twin screw blower was worth 200 hp. Aside from high flow cats, his earlier model XKR sports the stock exhaust. Members of the XKR community who placed Avos's TS blower on their 400 hp 4.2's are pushing well over 500 hp. All they had performed were modding the exhaust and bolting on his TS. Avos will complete development of a TS for the STR if he recieved orders. Mafioso is working on a TS too. As mentioned earlier, 500+ hp STR are around the corner.

The 585 was my car. Just trying to show that a little extra power goes a long way with similar car weights. In the op's run weight was also probably a factor as it's really easy to cut out weight of a late 90's z.

Qwik is on the money IMHO. Isn't there a ratio rule of thumb type thing that every 100lbs removed frees up approx 10 hp at the wheels? You racing guys probably know what I am talking about. The beauty of the STR is the combination of very good thrust coupled with a compliant ride yet agile handling, with timeless grace and style to go with everyday drive-ability I doubt you will fing anything about style and grace in a description of said "Z" car. That said, they go like stink when properly equipped and there are mods galore that don't require you to kidknap an electronics engineer and a machinist to perform, and a displacement advantage. That said, it is exciting to follow the progress of the STR modders and explore the limits.
