Strange issue with climate control.

2003 S-Type 4.2 with Nav. Hav ethe settings for the climate control
set to imperial and just recently the temp displays reverted to metric.
Going back into the menu settings still has has it set to imperial. Would
really like to get the imperial temp view back. But have yet to figure out
how. All other functions remain imperial other then the temp display.

Please delete. found it.

The local dealers in Southern Cal have all told me they don't know how to do this, don't know who to ask, and don't want to attempt it unless I can provide instructions. However, I found a guy in LA who has the System Driven Diagnostics tool that this thread says is needed. He does not have any idea what or where to look though, and the comments above indicate that it is not a simple switch to make. If anyone has any pointers, tips, or a recipe please PM me. Thanks!
UPDATE
I just talked to another dealer who told me that they know about this situation and have dealt with it. But, per these guys, you actually need to extend the wiring harness AND replace the touch screen. Making the software change may make the Sync button appear on the touch screen, but the button doesn't do anything without some additional wiring, and that wiring needs to plug into a socket on the back of the touch screen that is not there unless you bought the car with Dual Climate installed. This makes sense given that Dual Climate was apparently part of the Climate Pack option package that included other hardware requirements for heated seats and wheel. Bottom line, per this dealer, is that hardware changes are needed. I'm going to take their word for it and quit looking further unless someone has first hand knowledge they want to share that this can be done with software changes only.
