Suspension parts 4.0
I'm a bimmer user but i decide to give a try to an 4.0 s type.. 2000
it has 54,000 on the clock..
What are the suspension parts? can somebody name them?
i would like to do an suspension overhaul all its components but my question is.
Do i have to replace the whole CONTROL ARMS? or only the bushings & ball joints. of both sides?
I also have in a "Cats" code or something like that, what is that?
- It has also like a sensor located in the damper or strut mount area they told me i have to replace that, what is the name of that thing or sensor that goes close to the struts mount?
- Can i replace the suspension compoents with the Lincoln LS ones at lease the bushings or ball joins ect, what is replasable?
they are not many jaguars in Puerto Rico..

Based on your questions, you need to do a lot of research on the car. You have what some call a "pre-update" car. The 2000 to 2002 share a great many more components with the LS than the post update cars. Even so, Jaguar set up the S-Type differently than the LS. Also, suspension tuning can be achieved through the use of different spring rates and bushings therefore if you wish to retain the handling characteristics of the car you need to make sure you are using the correct components.
CATS by the way is Jaguar's acronym for an active suspension.
