Very low mileage car question
Hello everyone, this is my first time posting on this forum so i am sorry if it's bothering anyone. English is not my first language so please excuse any mistakes you may see. Thank you !
So, my grandpa bought a new car and gave me his old one. A 2006 Jaguar S Type 2.7D that he bought new, with 31k km on the clock, which is approx. 19k miles if anyone was wondering. It was kind of a weekend car for him, so the car didn't sit for long periods of time and is actually in a pretty good condition, although it sat outside all of it's life.
Right now i am in college, so i am kinda tight with money.
Would it be a good idea to daily this car ? From what i've heard, it is pretty expensive to maintain it, but i don't know exactly how expensive.
If not, then could anyone please give their opinion on how much would i get if i were to sell it ? I've tried searching on the internet but i don't seem to find any cars with this low of km.
Thank you very much !

Johan: You have skipped a very important detail; Your location.
Cost of maintenance and market value for an S-type can vary considerably based upon where it is located. Your variant was never exported to North America, so many of us here will be unable to assist you, but we do have international members; your location is key to getting valid opinions.
On other question is are you mechanically inclined, or will you be relying on the dealer or independent service facilities to service and repair the S-type?

Heck, I got nervous when I was buying my 2024 F-Type brand new from a out of state dealership this time last year. Thankfully this was Autonation who has a large network here in the States and was able to deliver my F-Type at a Jaguar dealership about 45 minutes away.
On a side note I was able to buy my F-Type $9K (USD) under MSRP from using a discount on the Autonation website though oddly the discounted price wasn't on the dealership's main site. Odd but still money saved!!

Johan, indeed, as John (S-Type owner) suggested above, we need to know in which country you are. I checked in the system and you wrote: RO.
I know that RO is not a US state and neither an Australian state. ...BUT AI on google is quite good - I figured it out: You are in Romania...
Well, I have no idea about prices for cars in Romania - but hey, you are there,,,: So I could ask you!
I also do not know, what the workshops in Romania ask for repairs, but in general it is pretty helpful, if you could do everything yourself.
As for the parts: You just have to learn, were on the internet to find them. Car-parts of all brands do cost money in the end...
And I also do not know, how "radical" Romania punishes Diesel-owners. I think, some countries like to push them off the roads with their policies...
All in all, I think you have to ask someone, who is in the know, in your country.
