Pretty much the entire cooling system is replaced and looks like shes all fixed. No more overheating or leaking rad also brand new water pump, thermostat and "low km fan" w/relay & harness. Only question is should I have changed out the dccv while I was at it? Probably should have but just happy she back rollin

Yes but good job anyway! With your skills if the DCCV craps out (And it will!) you won't have any problems doing the repair. Also watch for hose leaks. I had to replace mine one by one before I got smart and replaced the rest of them at the same time!

I wouldn't worry about it. Keep in mind when (not if) the DCCV fails, it's probably not going to leave you stranded. It's not like a hose that blows apart and dumps all the coolant. The typical failure is either full heat or none at all. Shouldn't be a problem getting home like that.

No experience with the V8, but can you replace the DCCV innards like I did on my '02 V6? The hard part is dealing with the multiple hoses in tight quarters, which is not an issue if leaving the valve body in place:

Was the dead fan caused by a bad control module? You had mentioned the fan tested okay with direct battery power, so it seems like the module was the culprit. I don't remember anybody else running into a bad module, but there's a first time for everything.

Be sure to hang onto the old fan. If you want to rebuild it to keep as a spare, details are here:

Idk if it was the fan itself the harness or the relay but I literally got an entire fan from an 02 v6 for $45 after tax and slapped er in there and she’s back in business. Didn’t even think it was the same harness at first. Probably do some more testing on the old fan to see where the failure is but I think it was the harness as im seeing some green corrosion.
