club, I don't think that $13k is bad for an '06, especially from a Jaguar dealer. I believe its a win win personally.

Well I was not sure since I got mine a couple of years ago? My 2005 STR with 33K miles and about a year of factory warranty was $19K back in January 2009.

So I figured mine was only worth maybe $12K now?

Congrats!

Alpine Jaguar...I used to service my car there when I had my Select Edition warranty. They always did a great job and their customer service was also great (and I always enjoyed the courtesy XF loaners...haha). I remember one time when they cut and programmed a key for me free of charge.

Thanks to all for the comments. And a special thanks to Rick for noticing the missing screw and Sal for the head up on Alpine. Sounds like a good place for service. I looked at a fair number of cars and the pricing was a real eye opener. There were cars with similar mileage to ours as high as $18k. I think $13k was a good deal, considering it included 6.5% sales tax. The actual sale price was $12,215.

Our 2005 S-Type was originally a Fort Lauderdale 3-year corporate lease car from Alpine. It was always serviced there, they took great care of it, and they were very helpful to me on the phone when I was doing my research in December 2008 to decide whether to make an offer. Glad we did - it's been a great car for us. Enjoy yours....

We picked the car up yesterday! Best experience with a dealership ever, Alpine Jaguar in Ft Lauderdale is terrific! Turns out they put a little over $2300 into the car before listing it. The car came with a full tank of gas which I thought was a nice touch. A lot of dealers send you off running on fumes. The car is replacing my wife's Hyundai Tiburon and she was a little nervous about the S-Type being so much bigger. The drive home solved all that. She loves the ride and so do I. Thanks to everyone for the advice here. It made our search a lot easier. I should also mention that we picked up a Service Contract that covers the car for 48 months or 60K additional miles, just to be safe.

It's so GOOD to hear about a decent dealer! Thanks for that.
