Why-puff smoke on start up?
2003 S type V8 base.
When I get up and start the car in the morning I have no smoke or issues (I've had compression check done on all cylinders and it checked out as "good" according to one shop, from an unrelated diagnosis). The car starts fine, drives fine, doesn't seem to burn or leak any oil. But..I get to work at 7:30 a.m. and park the car. I then take the car to the gas station aroudn 11 a.m. every morning and usually I get a big puff of white smoke from the right side exhaust. What's that all about?
After this intial hit of smoke at 11 a.m. I don't usually have any other issues the rest of the day or evening from starting-stopping or letting the car sit.
*Occasionally I'll get some smoke when I'm at speed if I hammer on the gas to accelerate from a rolling speed. Generally speaking the car rides and runs fine.

White smoke generally indicates condensation in the exhaust being boiled off as the pipes warm up.
If there is no significant change in the coolant level, drive the vehicle until it's fully warmed up to eliminate as much condensation as possible.

I get normal small white smoke/condensation first thing (7:30 a.m.) but it's after my 7:30-8 a.m. commute, and the car has been sitting when then at 11 a.m. start up I get larger puffs that makes a large cloud as tall or taller than the car.
