The symptoms sound like a failing fuel pump to me, I suggest you have the fuel pressure measured- it should be 55 psi.

It is always helpful if you can let everyone know what MY your vehicle is and any other details.

If you have checked the wiring loom and connections, most likely you must replace the knock sensor....

Check the passenger side carpet for wetness. I have seen the O-rings on the heater core leak

One other note: assuming you remove the air duct tube, you can also clean out the throttle body. Just use some throttle body cleaner and some paper towels.
