My car is a bit newer but people used to say lock it. I tried both ways and it doesn't matter for a week or two. Haven't tried longer.

If my car kept having P1000 I'd read the status of the monitors to see which had not set then investigate in case it pointed to a problem worth fixing.

Here, we're not required to have P1111 i.e....

Cheap coils - not for me.

Just in case you replaced the wrong coil you'd expect the same code as before plus maybe one...

I'd either fit a new #2 coil or swap it and see if the fault moves - but it's damaging the cat so a new one looks wiser.

Don't continue do what you're doing unless yo want to replace the cat.

Sounds like removing the flagged O2 sensor and peering at the cat using a borescope via the hole would be useful, then put in a new sensor.

Also may be worth looking at OBD live data very closely...
