Ditto on the key slop being normal from my experience also ,...the only thing I know of with the ignition switch, is if the flap does not return to it's home position some electrical components stay...

Sounds very much the same as my 06 did...turned out the door latch on the suspect door had failed internally...there is a slider that moves internally that sends a signal to the module that the door...
