There is no way 21.5 volts is correct. I would expect something around 14 - 15volts max. If your alternator is putting out 21.5 volts something is broken and your battery will be fried in short order.

Daim, l Just used the screw on conversion...

Daim, l Just used the screw on conversion fittings and removed the fittings after servicing. The original shrader valve stays in place so on with a cap and you're done.
