yes, it was there to stop you seeing bodywork under the mounting position ( painted surface ) , and you will find other small areas like this on the floor and behind seatbelt mounts for the same...

the other sensor is on the flywheel opposite...

use of the recommended bracket is advised to stop it falling out the gearbox during removal if separated from the flex...

a remanufactured ABS unit is desirable because its cheap , a remanufactured gearbox, the same etc , all critical or safety items.....

a ' remould ' or remanufactured tyre is frowned...
