Default All British Day 2017 - Sunday 17 September at Tennyson

September might seem still far away but 2017 is flying through like our engine's on Nitro!

So just to let you all know the All British Day dates have been put forward for Sunday 17 September at Tennyson (Same location as previous years).

The planets have aligned too and it looks like I will be home myself for this one. I missed last year but the 2015 one was brilliant.

So just wanted to know who would be interested and I'll start to coordinate it with Max the ABD organiser. I already have a few starters which is great

Date and Location: Sunday 17th September at
St Jospehs College Sports Ground, Vivien Street, Tennyson Brisbane

Website: All British Day ? Brisbane ? Queensland ? Australia | Concourse Day for British manufactured cars

Starters:

1) Paul (paulyling)
2) Clarke (o1xjr)
3) Phill (Dr Phill)

Jaguarforums.com will again get a mention in the program as we will be supplying the printed matter for the day.

And that's Phill with 2 LL's

G'day guys. Just an update.

Still haven't heard back from the bloke that runs the ABD so might send him another email. Still over here in Singapore then next stop is the USofA for me. Sorry there hasn't been much correspondence. My poor kitty won't get much attention these next few months either!

G'day guys
You can pencil me in for this one if it goes ahead. Not that she will be in the best show condition by then, but it will be good to add to the 'jamboree'

G'day guys. I have just received this email from one of the event organisers. Would appreciate your feedback so I can email him back. Just in regards to Admission fee and the famous badge we get each time. What are your guys thoughts?

Hello All Clubs

This years event 17 September 2017

ABD 2016 made a donation to QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute of $3,000.

Unfortunately due to the loss of RACQ as our sponsor and the postponement of the event by a week due to the rain affected fields causing a reduction in attendance subsequently reducing our donation amount.

Our most significant cost each year is the badges that we include with the attendance fee.

The cost of these badges has been rising each year and cutting into the amount of this fee that we can donate to our charity and we expect that they will again rise this year.

We have maintained the $15.00 amount for ease of change at the gate.

We are considering several options for this year which we would like your feedback on.

Option 1. No change, $15.00 entry fee and less to our charity.

Option 2. Raise entry fee to $20.00.

Option 3. Reduce entry fee to $10.00 with no badge but have a limited number of badges available for purchase on the day (clubs could also pre order badges).
Also on that note any more takers for the day?

So far the details are still as follows:

Date and Location: Sunday 17th September at
St Jospehs College Sports Ground, Vivien Street, Tennyson Brisbane

Starters:

1) Paul (paulyling)
2) Clarke (o1xjr)
3) Phill (Dr Phill)
4) James (34by151)
5) Pete (digger200012)

Considering that my ex wife told me quite often that I an an infectious disease, as well as many others telling me that I have serious mental conditions and that my father has terminal cancer I think we need to continue trying to raise money.

No seriously though I am quite happy to pay $20 for the day and collect my wee badge of honour as well has help with the fundraising.

Yeah I am keen too to just pay the $20 and get my little badge. If the money goes to charity thats cool.

Clarke also mentions he was keen for the $20 (via email).

I just got to email the organiser back to get a general consensus. Not sure what the actual outcome will be as there are lots of other clubs coming too.

cheers guys.

$20 is still a reasonable entry fee to display your car, have a great day with lots of fellow enthusiasts and support a worthy cause.
Being involved with the ABD committee the past two years I know how much of a struggle it is financially to put the day on. Plus losing RACQ as major sponsor at the 11th hour was a major blow.

I am more than happy to pay a few more bucks and still get a badge.

All for a good cause. I'm more than happy to spend $20 for the great day out that it is.

Paul,

Put me down as a starter.
$20 sounds fair to me.

I haven't missed an ABD since arriving on the coast in 2014. I'm in but as a spectator only as my E and XJ12 are still a long way off making the journey under their own steam. Happy to be a passenger if there is room in the Blue Goose Paul?

Glad to have you aboard Alan!

My eldest son will be coming along (and perhaps the young fella) so being that the Goose is a Coupe' I won't have the room. (Those seats in the back are useless). Fear not however as a few of the other chaps from that way may have room especially in one Luxurious XJ I know We can sort it out anyways as we get closer to the date.

Glad you can make it. So that will be:

1) Paul (paulyling)
2) Clarke (o1xjr)
3) Phill (Dr Phill)
4) James (34by151)
5) Pete (digger200012)
6) Doug & Lois (ozxj)
7) Rob (Champir)
8) Ropariva (Alan)

I'd be happy to arrive at the venue in anything British Would make a nice change to the work car (Hyundai ) If someone has room for me I can get myself to a meeting place somewhere between Caloundra and Brissy
I was supposed to go with a mate in his MGC but he is more unreliable than a Mini in a puddle.

This Cat is not having a good day . . . Firstly, stuffed up PM reply (sorry Paul, but thanks for keeping me on email list). Secondly, found Tennyson is nowhere near London (whew), but about midway between Auckland & Darwin!

So, as promised at Tenterfield, I am planning to attend. Can't speak yet for daughter Megs. Also, I will contact Dave & Deb at Armidale and see if we can tour up together. Perhaps you locals can recommend reasonable nearby accommodation for 1-2 nights?

1) Paul (paulyling)
2) Clarke (o1xjr)
3) Phill (Dr Phill)
4) James (34by151)
5) Pete (digger200012)
6) Doug & Lois (ozxj)
7) Rob (Champir)
8) Ropariva (Alan)
9) Ken (cat_as_trophy)

Best wishes to all,

Ken
