Exhilarating but frustrating as well..
Have had my 2007 Jaguar XK for 10 days now. Put some 500 miles since purchase when it had 28.7k miles, now 28.200+. Both, my former Nissan 370Z and this car have similar performance figures. The 370Z put out 332 HP and did the 60 in 5.4 secs. However, the Nissan was a 6 cylinder.
I love the feel of the XK, the leather inside and how solid it feels. However, there are two issues and I am not a DIY person. This means, the fix will cost me $$$ at the dealer unless there are other options.
1. Is that the Glove box snaps down hard when you can get it open, sometimes it does not open easily and the lock cylinder is lose, comes right off.
2. I miss my Pandora stations. Bluetooth is for phone calls only. The local car audio store said that he has no fix for a Jaguar. I dont know if the dealer can do anything.
Any advice?

Glovebox issue is something that can be easily done. See post 11 in this thread:

The least expensive and easiest way to listen to music on your phone is with a small, battery-powered portable Bluetooth speaker. There are many available on Amazon and in your local stores.
Ipod integration became standard equipment on the 2009 X150 models. A separate, dealer-installed accessory - the Audio Connectivity Module - was available for 2007 and 2008 models, but neither had Bluetooth connectivity for music. Nevertheless, an aftermarket accessory that plugs into the iPod cable - the Bovee 1000 (and similar devices) - enables Bluetooth music that can be controlled by the steering wheel volume and track wheels. But the touchscreen display might not work.

The dealer will replace the whole glove box and you most likely won't like the price. Print a copy of the fix and find some independent garage to do the fix.

Theres a glovebox? Haha. Use your hands to keep it from dropping hard if you cant fix it. Mine doesnt lower itself with grace, but the last time I used it, I was 1970s playboy. As for bluetooth, buy an FM transmitter and set it to 87.9 and forget about it. Now, Im gonna ask you to stop bringing up that Datsun into your posts. The 370 was a newer, boring car, and you know it. Now you have a hotter, older mistress that knows what makes you tick. Time to let the past go, and go forward. At 70, Its hard for me to accept any excuses. Maybe at 80, but if you’re gonna whine about the headache after taking viagra. Stop taking viagra. I kid.. I kid. My dad complained about it and he’s 76.🤣

There is an official Jaguar repair which dealers do -.and my dealer did it, happily or at least with no complaint. The fix is essentially the same one found in the threads here because there is nothing wrong with the glove box, nor with the lid, nor with the damper mechanism except that the fixing peg for the damper has broken. The repair consist of drilling a hole in the hinge piece (where the broken peg was) and fitting a screw or cotter pin (which I think is the Jaguar fix) to which the damper is now connected. Problem solved. This is an almost unbelievably common issue - very minor but annoying. As a point of information for those under the age of 40, all glovebox lids used to fall open without damping because there were no dampers ever fitted until recen, very recent decades. If this is the biggest complaint, life is good.

You can add the iPod connectivity module when you can find one. Some of us have done a retro fit from newer model Jaguars and can maybe help you if we knew where you were located. It's a solution that Jaguar will not do for you however. You will be able to then connect your phone and get Pandora. They will connect the audio module. It will sell used for about $200 - $300. iPod only though, no pandora.
Glove box fix is roughly 30 minutes. I suspect an indy will charge you 1 hour labor.

Zahmed,
Keep the following in mind and it will help with the frustration.
You remember me seasoning you; you were going backwards 10 years in time. This is an inescapable fact.
Imagine buying a vintage car, would you expect few small things not to work, or expect a cd player.
Those 10years are significant and you cannot compare convenience of any car from 10 years ago to a current car, not even a Rolls Royce.

Like people, some cars age better than others. And still turn heads. The X150 design is classic. And the design in Post #962 is timeless: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/o...s-2185/page48/
