New member from Texas owns half a Jaguar
Forum noob says hello to all. I own a car that's half Jaguar and I have a question about compatible parts.
Car is a 2004 Ford Thunderbird. As many here know, that car is basically a re-skinned early S-Type.
I want to know if the front and rear shock tower braces from an early XF/XFR will fit my Thunderbird.
I already have a small fortune in Jaguar parts fitted to the Thunderbird. Turned into a quite enjoyable car.
I can always have a local performance suspension shop like Texas Track Works in Fort Worth fab braces but wonder if DEW98=compatible XF parts might bolt-on.

Welcome to the forums Sierra977,
Great looking car. We don't see them in the UK.
As it's S-Type based, members in https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ed-v8-x200-15/ forum are most likely to know about parts compatability.
You can also use the US Southwest Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-southwest-37/ to find other members in your region. If there's any with an early XF/XFR near your location, an inspection could help answer the question.
Enjoy the forums.
Graham

LnrB, always been a fan of Doane Spencer's signature black and chrome color scheme.
Doane's '32 Highboy Deuce the hot rod that started it all. (now in Bruce Meyer's collection)
His 1955 Thunderbird

pdupler, are you the XF owner I met at The Bomb Factory show in Deep Ellum a few weeks ago? I was also in Arlington TX last Saturday at the Yellow Rose Classic show.
Yes the TBird gets driven to shows in the DFW area. Due to Texas summer heat it's hard to say what the next show will be but I try to make a couple a month. Maybe Twin Peaks Mesquite this coming Sunday, Bubba's 33 the following Sunday or the new Buc-ee's in Royse City on the 27th.
BTW if you like car events, especially exotics like Jaguars, Lambos etc there's a new phone app called ParkUpFront (phones only iirc) that might be of interest to you. PUF is based in DFW but it's nationwide. Lists shows, tours, cruises and special events. You might give it a look. It's a free app.

No I was not in Deep Ellum. I rarely get over to the Dallas side for car shows. I used to have a 68 Mustang that I put in the Yellow Rose a couple of times but I sold it in 2014 and do not at present have any Fords so I only walked through the show to look kinda late on Sunday this year. This Saturday evening planning on going to the Christian Classic Cruisers in North Richland Hills. I pretty much hit that one every month. Its the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo Moon Landing so some friends and I talked about taking our 1969 Corvettes - not the ones actually driven by the astronauts but in commemoration of them Off work tomorrow so I might go to the Classical Gas Nostalgia Nights in Arlington and drive the XF. Its not a show car by any stretch of imagination tho, just the daily driver. That's the nice thing about cruise ins.
