I heard once from an older tech there was a generic unlock pin that was based on the queens birth year or something stupid like that, but I have no way of verifying that. It might be worth a little google-fu to see if there is something posted, but I've only ever used the dealer level tools to open them when the custom pin gets forgotten.
Rover Joe,
Your buddy was correct. The MASTER PIN is 1926 (QE II birth year). However, if the PIN has been set to something else, that PIN will not work. I'd give it a go anyway.
Someone tried turning the ignition "ON" then pressing the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the fob together until the car beeps twice. Again 20/20 hearsay, but worth a go!

I assume your dealer will charge you for an hour labor, so whatever the going rate is in your area. For my stores that's $350-$450 but the south FL market is brutal. Maybe if you talk nice to a service guy you can get someone to do it and you just shoot the tech $100 or something.
