Conflicting numbers X175
Hello everyone. As I am a new member. This is my first time posting anything. So please be patient. I have no idea what I'm doing. Anyway I'm a proud owner of two Jaguars. The first is a 1998 XK8 Convertible. The second is the car I have questions about. It's an XKR with a build date of June 1st 2009. But a registration date of August 2010. And a VIN of 2011. It was initially registered in the United States as a Jaguar X175 corporate vehicle. For the first 8 months of it's life. Then was registered under the local dealership name. Before finally being sold to the public in September of 2011. It has the 5.0 liter supercharged engine. Along with the high speed pack and the black pack. The car is finished in ultimate black with charcoal leather interior. And dark oak veneer.. I've been told the car was a press/media car. To introduce the upcoming technology of the 2011 model year. To the North American market. Which is why it was built in 2009 as a 2011 model. The 2010 registration was to comply with California State law. Since the car would need to be driven on California roads in 2010 as a corporate vehicle. I'm waiting on Jaguar heritage trust. To send me what documentation they may have. I'm wondering if anyone can provide any information or insight into such a vehicle. As I await the information from Jaguar. Any help would be greatly appreciated .
Sincerely: Andrew Knight

The ‘2011 model year’ is probably in error, as the first 5.0L cars were introduced as the 2010 model year in the US, even though built in 2009 and sold in the UK as a 2009 model (we follow the UK by 1 year, which always causes confusion).
What does Topix have to say about your car: https://topix.jaguar.jlrext.com/topi...cle/lookupForm
Perhaps, Ask for the car history from the service department at a Jaguar Dealership.

@Andrew Knight Use the official National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) decoder to look up a car’s 17-character "fingerprint" to reveal its specifications and history. Use the following link to verify active theft status, open recalls, and comprehensive vehicle history before buying a used car.

It can be somewhat confusing. My VIN code does come up as a 2011. With the tenth digit being a B. The build date on the driver side door jam is June of 2009. But stamped on the passenger side strut tower is the 2011 VIN number. Matching the one in the dash behind the wind screen. The car was registered as a corporate car. Then to the local dealership. Then in September of 2011. It was sold to private ownership. I've been given so many different stories and scenarios. Prior to joining this site. I really have no idea what I have. I contacted several dealerships. All of which say I can't have a vehicle history report. Because I wasn't the owner at the time of service. I guess I'll wait to hear from Jaguar heritage trust. I thank everyone for the information. And sources to use. If anyone else might have information. It would be greatly appreciated. As you all seem to be very knowledgeable people
