OBD2 reader for diesel

I have an X-Type 2.0 diesel with an intermittent glow plug light flashing, I have tried to locate an OBD2 reader but most say not compatible with diesel engines so has anyone had experience with one that is compatible and can recommend?

Look at the iCarsoft models. I have a CR V2 10 make this one : https://www.ukpartsdirect.com/vehicl...stic-tool.html
Its not fancy but it will read B,C and U codes. It also read the 2 fuel system codes on a car I diaged recently that were not shown at all in a generic ELM scanner. It's slightly cheaper if you just buy it for the Jag single model version but to be honest it's great value.
One caveat it will not program injectors on X-type diesels due to a Ford lawsuit against another 3rd party tool.
One other thing a lot of the fuel codes mean "something wrong with the fuelling system" - they do not mean replace the bit they point at.

Thanks for the reply, I managed to get a cheap £20 one from Amazon and have now got the code p0405 (Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor A Circuit Low) no idea if this is a fault with the sensor, the wiring or if it is just the EGR valve that needs a clean as I know they can get pretty gunked up. Any ideas where to start?
