XK 4.2 flooded engine... :-(
Hi all,
First, happy new year to all!
Now, I believe I flooded my XK's engine... :-(
I moved it on the driveway yesterday to make room for my girlfriend's car and completely forgot it had to run for a bit... :-( until I tried to restart it later on...
It happened to me once in the past and called the AA at the time. I remember the guy restarted it in no time but can't remember what he did.
Any tips on what I should try before calling the AA again?
Thanks
Lars

Thanks Graham,
No I'm sure he didn't remove the plugs (I'm not even sure the AA would bother with that nowadays...)
Are you sure about the accelerator pedal fully down? I thought that would inject even more fuel...
I seem to remember there was a trick with the accelerator but can't remember if it was pressing it BEFORE starting (how many times?), not at all during startup or fully down when starting...

The accelerator is a drive-by-wire arrangement and has no physical connection to the throttle body.
Assuming the battery is fully charged, remove the fuel pump relay and spin the engine several times to clear any excess fuel. Reinstall the relay and start the vehicle as you normally would. The fuel pump relay is located in the Battery Junction Box (BJB) on the LH side of the battery.

Ok, I have just tried again with both break and accelerator pedals depressed fully while pressing on the start button.
Same result anyways. Didn't insist to much as I don't want to do more damage. Not sure how long I should insist...
Also, no idea how to disconnect relay... Had a look in the boot and I see 3 black plastic boxes next to the battery (which I brand new btw) left of the battery.

Right AA man came... no luck...
He tried with removing the fuse for the fuel pump (fuse 33 I believe) but still no luck. I mentioned to him the relay near the battery but he said removing fuse was the same.
He said the problem is that the start button times out after a few seconds when in fact you should try to crank up engine longer...
I do have the AA repair cover but obviously they don't cover spark plugs...
Anyways so verdict is to send it to garage to fit a new set of plugs... :-(

Its a 56 Reg, 87k.
Serviced in septembre by Jag specialist but they didn't change the plugs.
The AA guy didn't even plug his computer, he said as the plugs had not been changed last time, its probably why he couldn't restart the car.
No DTCs according to my basic code reader.
