ATL: Mechanic needed
Hello, just joined today!
Looking for a good place to get work done on my 2001 XK8. The dealer is getting a bit expensive on parts as the bigger problems start to happen. I need to get my upper strut mounts replaced ASAP, not sure of a good place to buy them. Was looking for something a little stiffer than stock if it is made, also looking for a trusted place to get the work done and to get parts. Thank you for any help!

Seeing as how you're in Alpharetta, I imagine you probably came by my store.

Nice to know. I am in sandy springs. I just got a 1999 xk8 with 65k and it looks great. I am thinking of taking it in to get a once over to see what work needs to be done (fingers crossed that it is in as good shape mechanically as astatically). What type of inspection should I ask for?
Some specific questions, can you evaluate if I need my transmission fluid changed?
Do you do leather restoration? Just a little work on the drivers side, and some foam compression.

scottatl, you certainly can have an inspection done here at the dealership. We do them all the time. Give our service department a ring at 770-475-0822 to schedule the inspection. Jeff, Kay, or Pete will be able to assist you. The trans fluid is part of the inspection, so no problem there. We also can handle interior and upholstery repair. Just give us a call.

Now I just need to bring the XK in to get those strut mounts replaced, been driving the XJ around mostly.

Dealer is a knowledgeable place to take your car, but there are also many independents in the Atlanta area. If you want to go that route, I recommend Road Britannia in Buckhead. They have been there for 30 years. 404-266-1699
