Default Tampa Bay British Car Club News and Events - NEW

Tampa Bay British Car Club and Friends:

I don’t have to tell you that the Summer weather has arrived. The humidity is high the temperatures are high and rain is forecast for every day. Not to mention it’s the start of the Storm season and this year we are Doomed there will be a Hurricane FIONA, so pack your bags, run for the hills…and be very afraid of this one!! (Just joking!!)

This week is Drive Your British Car Week. So, take your car to work, go for a Beer run or just a nice drive. This week it is your job to remind everyone that Classic Cars are not just Hot Rods, Muscle Cars and Corvettes. (Sorry Bob).
There are several Classic Car events this week. Take your car to one of these shows and have some fun:

June 1 - Wednesday at Lakewood Ranch
June 2 - Thursday at Quaker Steak
June 3 - Friday at Biff Burger
June 4 - Saturday in Dade City.

Our traditional Drive Your British Car Week event is tomorrow Thursday June 2nd . The Tampa Bay British Car Club is INVADING Quaker Steak and Lube at 10400 49th Street North, Clearwater. Last year we had about a dozen British Cars and we took home most of the trophies, lets do that again!! The show starts at 4 PM until about 8 PM and has a $5.00 entry fee. Fiona and I are planning to attend.

Have you RSVP’ed for The Brits by The Bay Summer Picnic on June 25. The Tampa Bay British Car Club invites all area Car Clubs and everyone to its semi annual picnic at Phillippe Park, 2525 Phillippe Parkway, Safety Harbor Fl in Shelter #2. Starts at about 10:00 AM, Eats at noon and ends when the last car leaves. If your name begins with A to L please bring a dessert, M to Z bring an appetizer or side dish. TBBCC will provide Burgers, hot Dogs, drinks and all the fixings. Please RSVP to president@tampabaybritishcarclub.org. All Cars, Clubs and People are welcome.

At both Tampa Bay British Car Club biannual picnics the Club gives away some very nice door prizes. These prizes include Club Regalia, Gift Certificates, Car Cleaning Products and much more. And this year I have some GREAT prizes. To be eligible for the door prizes you MUST attend the monthly Club Meetings. At the meeting you can get door prize tickets. These tickets are given to any member that has driven a British Car, one ticket for each day driven since the last Club meeting, that can be up to 31 tickets. And you get an extra ticket for attending the meeting. This “raffle” is to encourage everyone to drive his or her British Car. A British Car is defined as any mark that originated in Britain, both Classic and Modern Cars. You MUST be present at the picnic to win and all the tickets will roll over to the December picnic.

Have you checked out the Tampa Bay British Car Club’s “New” Regalia Store? Barrie Carson the TBBCC Regalia Officer now has a web page devoted to the TBBCC regalia. Go to Tampa Bay British Car Club Apparel or there is a link to the Regalia Store on the Club web site. Club shirts, Club Jackets, name badges and soon the Club Grill Badges can be ordered on line.

The Tampa Bay British Car Club’s Grill Badges. Those members that have pre-paid you can pick up your badges at any Club event or meeting. These are a must have for you Classic British Car or to decorate your “Man Cave”. These are heavy chrome with 4 Color Enamel Paint and look great. There are available at all Club events or contact me about arranging a special pick-up (Phil @ 727-420-0467) and are only $20.00. If you need the badges to be mailed, an additional $5.00 must be paid for postage and packaging. Any Club Officer can accept orders and payments. Or send a check payable to:

The TBBCC Outstanding Member for the second Quarter of 2016 is: Steve Peterson who has been a long time Club Member and one of our strongest club supporters. He enjoys attending many of the Club events in his Classic Mini and for the last several years he has worked tirelessly cooking the Burgers at the Brits By The Bay Picnics. Next time you see Steve, Thank him for his efforts.
