All week long, we've had temperatures in the nineties, and high humidity. The weekend is down to the seventies, but it rained a good portion of Friday night, and it's threatening rain today. When I drove to Katie's around 5:00AM, there was no rain, and the streets were dry. However, the threat of rain meant that it was after 6:30AM before we had a good crowd.

It was overcast, with a very light mist, on my way to Katie's, early this morning. However, it never rained, and we had a pretty good turnout. Strangely, I saw not a single Jaguar there today!

Very light rain early this morning made me doubt we'd have much of a turnout today, but it wasn't bad... It cleared up around 7AM. We had Bobert's F-type and an XK convertible there today.

I brought my Xkr there yesterday. Apparently somebody decided to sit on my bumper and cracked the paint all over. Frustrating!

I hate hearing that! The Katie's crowd is normally very respectful... That said, I was NOT happy to see the d-bag with the Ford SUV with the manufacturer's plate that rudely parked diagonally across two spaces. He left the doors open, and had a sign for people to 'explore' the car. A great combination - lazy and rude. I'd encourage people to go out of their way not to patronize a sales organization that acts like this.

A really good Saturday at Katie's. I met several people who were first-time-visitors. One drove his Triumph all the way from Kansas, to see friends, but had heard of this event, and wanted to see it. A man and his son arrived in his race-prepped 240SX.

An old Lotus friend also showed up, and Bob Morris' Allard was delivered.

I had not seen the Honda Beat there before - it's a Kei car, made for tight urban spaces.

Plenty of Jaguars there today, too!

Fall is here! The first really cool Saturday morning in months. A bit of mist early, and, of course, it stays dark well past 7AM. This is what passes for a lightly-attended Katie's, but we still more than filled up the front lot - and not with boring daily drivers!

Very light rain when I left the house this morning, but it had stopped by the time I arrived at Katie's. Cool, but not cold this morning - jacket weather. A good turnout of cars (though only two Jaguars) and people!

A rainy Saturday at Katie's. A low turnout, of cars and people, but not a total bust. We had about 25 people inside.
I found the two Peugeots interesting. See? - there's always something worth seeing at Katie's!

It rained last night, and was still sprinkling when I left home. Rain stopped before 7AM, and people showed up a little later than usual - but they did show up. We had one Jaguar there this morning.

The last picture shows something I didn't recognize - does anybody know what it is? I'll post the answer later.

A perfect November Saturday! Cold, but clear and dry. We were rewarded by a lot of interesting vehicles, including a couple of Jaguars, old & new!

What's the first one? It looks like a cross between an MR-2, GTR, and Delorean.

That's an Autozam AZ-1, a Mazda product. This is a Kei car, a Japanese category for subcompact cars, optimized for urban parking/driving. Japan's Kei car formula states that the car must not exceed 11ft 2in. long, and 4ft 10in. wide. Also, engine size is restricted to under 660cc and 63hp. Mostly, Kei cars seem to be style-less transport pods, but there are exceptions - like this mid-engine, gullwing minicar. The first of these are now old enough to import.

I thought it might be small enough to coax my wife out of her Smart Cabriolet (which, critically, fits in the garage with our two sports cars). Unfortunately, the Smart's body length is 23.6" shorter, overall.

A cold but dry Saturday! Especially nice, after we had our first snow of the year Thursday of this week. The snow had been cleared by rain, and there wasn't too much salt on the roads. A fairly good turnout for the weekend before Thanksgiving.

We even had a few Jaguars there today!

A smaller-than-usual turnout, probably because it was threatening rain (but never actually did rain at Katie's), and because it was Thanksgiving Weekend. Still, we had a good time with friends.

David G. made sure we had a Jaguar there today.

You can't ask for much better weather than we had this morning, considering it's the first of December. Low-to-mid-thirties, at 5:00AM, with no wind - it was actually pretty nice. Katie's was certainly not as crowded as July or August, but that's perfectly OK with me, considering the general quality of vehicles and people there today. I only saw one Jaguar there today - a modern one.

Cold and clear today - it was 21F on my way to Katie's this morning. The good news - no wind, no rain, and no salt on the roads yet. We had a couple of Jaguars there today. Last week, the group I was supposed to attend the Middleburg Christmas parade with cancelled because of rain, so I still had the Christmas lights on my Caterham.

This week at Katie's:

The good - it warmed up considerably. It was 42 degrees when I got to the parking lot.
The not so good - a steady rain, all morning. (The DC area has set an all-time record for rainfall this year.)

Still, a bunch of us got together, had breakfast, talked cars, told jokes -- it's what we look forward to, each week.

(Hey - we did have one Jaguar there this week - the black F-Type coupe!)
