Please post how many people might be coming with you (friend, family?) Me + Wife
What car make+Model/color are you bringing? Jag E type FHC
Would you be interested in dinner after the meet+greeT? I'd be interested in meeting for lunch/coffee or something afterwards. Possibly dinner on a Sunday but probably not on a Saturday. Saturday nights are for boozing...
Also, tell us the location/time that works for ya!
Preference is Skokie, Streets, Lincolnwood.
All dates are fine but I prefer Saturday.

Thanks for setting it up!

Matt,

Thanks for taking the time to set this up, but unfortunately I will not be able to attend. I just bought a new garage (it came attached to a house, too ). Next month I will be moving and trying to get the old palce sold. Also, my daughter graduates from high school during the 1st week of June, so that kinda takes care of that.

Thanks again.

It all sounds good Hef........Here's hoping you get a good response

I attended an Audi meet just recently ( see thread link ) that had around 70 cars attend from far and wide, some from as far as 200 miles away.
This was put together by an Audi enthusiast who actually works at a local dealership......he works in the parts dept.
He brought along some goodies / parts / vouchers etc, held raffles, held a discussion on certain topics and also there was a mini detailing of his Audi 100 classic.

I wonder if you'd thought of approaching a local Jag dealer and ask if they'd be interested in sponsoring such an event?
The thinking is, if they get 10 -20 Jag enthusiasts through their doors, maybe lay on a few sandwiches / coffee etc ......there's a good possibility that fairly local members may use them for parts, new / used cars etc?
Just a thought that may help and you might like to consider?

All the best

Congrats on the new house! If you happen to have some time, you are still invited to stop by when we get a date set!

I would love to go later in the summer - August- I'm closer and would love to do it! Not very helpful for this post, just sayin. I'm new to Jaguar and something like this would be so much fun. Have a great time. I'll check now and then for new events.

Depending on the date, I might be able to drag another E type out with me. I have a friend with a nice BRG series II coupe like mine.

How does June 29 sound? It seems like May and early June has a bit of conflicts for some. Lets wait till May 7 before we come out with a solid date/time and specifics. We just need a few more to hit 8 people. Would really like to get a May/Early june meet and possibly another bigger meet August/Sept before the Chicago winter comes

Awesome! What date would be better for the 2nd e-type?

He's super busy and also needs to do some repairs on his car first. Let's schedule for everyone else and if he can make it, then I'll drag him along.

Oh, OK - Joliet had been mentioned earlier. I am sure there are more Jags up north.

So far we have 5 people interested in attending and a possible 6. I would like to get 8-10 cars out there. Lets try to pass on the note to other Jaguar owners in Illinois or even people that love Jags!

Kirk: We will set another meet after this 1 either Aug or Sept

I might be able to make a meet, but unless I get the repairs done on the Jag I would be attending in my Range Rover Classic instead. The first weekend of June is out for me as I have to work, the others might be workable with a little notice. Lost the last month of working on the Jag since I was on a humanitarian mission in Alaska with the Army.

Red face Response - meet & greet

I can attend on May 22 or June 5 ; Woodfield is 1st choice, Skokie is last choice. I have a red 2000 XKR, but I would like to drive my MG-TD if I can ever get the carbs I rebuilt tuned properly - I used to be good at this, but I somehow lost the knack. The XKR is currently giving me the engine-light/restricted-driving ("limp home") message, but I will have it looked at shortly. I always have my FLSTS to fall back on. Osama Bin Laden is dead and life is good.
