Need a Favor in Phoenix! There's Beer In It For You!

Hey all, I'm having some significant vibration problems in my 2006 XJ SuperV8. Discount Tire says that two of my wheels are slightly bent, a wheel shop said that they are so minor that I shouldn't feel it (and they couldn't fix them up any better than they are). What I think is odd is that no matter where the wheels are on the car the vibration feels equally intense. My understanding is that if the bad wheels are on the front the steering shake should be worse than if they are on the rear; that doesn't seem to be the case.

So, to rule out anything else before I go and blow a bunch of money either trying to get these wheels fixed or replaced, I'd like to borrow a set of known good wheels, do a highway run, and see if the vibration goes away or not.

I can come to you and bring tools (whatever works for you), we can work out details on whatever collateral you'd like to know I'm not trying to scam you, and of course you're more than welcome to ride along for the high speed highway run. I'll pay you in beer for your time!

Thanks! PM me or reply here!

Hey, that's a fair question, not opposed to it. My 2006 Super V8 went in the shop yesterday though. Where are you on your trying to find a test set? Bill

Now there's a perfect hookup! Don't tell me you're both Racing Green!

Wheel/tire vibrations can drive a person crazy. I'm battling the same with my much older XJ. I'm wondering if it's just a defective tire. Or two. I suppose I could swap wheels with my son's XJ6. That's a good idea. No beer for him yet though!

Na, mine is mostly black with a bunch of faded to grey/white on the roof. Time for a respray, I suppose.

The shop told me that the problem is the upper control arms. I just bought a set for next to nothing on ebay and will install this weekend or next hopefully. I'll report back to let anyone following along how it went.
